Weather Radar in MSFS versions

Featured Replies

Hi team,

I watched BB stream today (thanks FSL for having him showcase the upcoming release, very impressive and I am excited about taking the A320X flying in MSFS). Lefteris mentionned that they decided not to implement the ASOBO weather radar because they cannot simulate the Airbus radar, I am hoping this can be reconsidered as even though the FS radar is simply a 2D bitmaps I'd rather have this than nothing.

Could FSL at least implement the ASOBO radar as a temporary solution until something else is being looked at? IIRC ASOBO is not likely to give weather info via the SDK any time soon, I am not sure if the HIFI radar that we had in P3D can be implemented in FS20/24.

Will the EFB have the ability to show weather like we had in P3D?

We're getting into the winter season here in the U.S, and we use the radar quite often (in some condition, SOP dictates that the radar must be on). IMO, not having a radar takes away from the immersion

Looking forward to the release!

Bruno.

They also said, that it does not mean a "no" in the question of a working weather radar....

As they are testing something with code...

Iam always suprised but the way fs labs is doing things... they are really the kind of guys who say "we need to walk a extra mile for that feature. nevermind we go 10"

And yes, the EFB showed the weather like in P3D...
