only for the USA based carriers and the ones operating to there.

edit: foreign carriers are exempt by the looks but who knows what happens in the future.

Loving the comments of people wanting the pitch adjusted accordingly.  Wonder if they also want the price adjusted - both in price for the extra weight - lets use the overwight baggage rates - as well as divying up the price lost in the revenue of those missing seats.

let's not go into the recenue management side as that is one truly complex area. to sell one additional unit, the price lowers by X using a price demand curve.

Ya know-the price used to come with a meal, they took the meal away to probably save some weight and here we are back around at the same place again :P
