John James Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Hi, Just looking at an Aegean livery for the A320 X - and saw that there was an update to the A320 to version 5.0.1.0.103 for both P3Dv4 and 5. Also noted that this Aegean livery required a new Common Files Paint Kit download which I have downloaded. This Common Files folder is required for these new paints. However, I am not exactly sure WHERE the install path is! The ReadMe mentions:- {Prepar3D v5 Add-ons}\FlightSimLabs\FSLabs\SimObjects\Airplanes Obviously, I do NOT have this path as I use P3Dv4.5 HF3 - soon to be updated to version 5.0.1.0.103. I have this path:- C:\Users\<myname>\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\FSLabs\SimObjects\Airplanes - Subfolders - FSLabs A32X FSLabs A320 CFM FSLabs A320 IAE So would I REPLACE the current FSLabs A32X folder in this directory? Or is this only for P3Dv5.0 users? Thanks, Lee Quote
Robin Locher Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Hi, you can drop the FSLabs A32X folder in this directory: C:\Users\<myname>\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\FSLabs\SimObjects\Airplanes The folder will not replace it. Windows will ony install the new paintkit in it. 1 Quote
Sabine Meier Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 This common folder is only used by liveries from tavers, hb textures and professormadman Quote
Robin Locher Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Yes if you need the Painkit it will tell you if you download it. With this you need it. Quote
Sabine Meier Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Installation instructions are also in here. With a screenshot how the folder looks after installing the common files folder. Quote
John James Posted August 8, 2020 Author Posted August 8, 2020 Thanks folks! Yes, I saw the screenshot - but it looks nothing like my folder because I guess this is P3Dv5 and I do not have these subfolders:- AIRLINES PANEL BITMAPS TEXTURE TEXTURE_VC TEXTURE_VC.BAK ... and the DLL file ... FSL_A32XX.dll So Yes, as long as the PBR paints are compatible with P3Dv4.5 HF3 as well as P3Dv5.0, then I'll go ahead. It was just confusing. cheers, Lee Quote
Sabine Meier Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Just make sure that the directory has the red cicled folder in it. Quote
