P3D engine volume levels always "0"

Featured Replies

Hi there,

FSLABS A320 and A319 cannot set engine volume levels on P3D latest version HF2.

No way to increase it. Even saving something different than zero (0) you always get 0.

What's going on with this?

I will appreciate your support.

Julio

Hi Julio,

This is normal behavior when using the Airbus, it dynamically adjusts the volume sliders according to what it needs. The Airbus has got its own sound engine so does not rely on the P3D system, so it is just a case of letting it do its thing.

From an audio point of view it is by far the most complex addon for P3D, with the Majestic Dash-8 a coming in second.

Hi Julio,

To add to Jamie's post - the slider will be restored to your normal value when you next start P3D. So please just ignore the slider.

If you want to adjust the engine sound volumes - you can do so through MCDU -> OPTIONS -> SOUNDS -> SOUND VOLUMES

Andrew, can you please check why, when changing those values and restarting P3D, the changes are not maintained? I am not the only one to experience that. Thank you!

Both the latest and the previous (400).

Hi @James Goggi

I don't have v400 here but having just tried here mine were at the levels I set before restart.

make sure your audio source in turned On before starting P3D.

I have a Bose Soundbar connected through optical in. If if turn on the speaker after the p3d is already running I will get the same engine volume at 0, I can hear everything but the engines.

I hope you can fix it this way.

Norman, I started fighting with this few days before v415 was out. I wanted to increase the environment sound from 80% to 90% and I did not manage, although in the file A320gauges.ini the value 90 was correctly stored. Then I tried again with v415 but nothing, any value I change in the MCDU, when I restart I always get 50/80/50. I don't know what could prevent the values from staying, Anyway I am not the only one, see also

Thank you.

Ok thanks James - looking at this now.

James, we know!  Im just saying I tried now and mine (albeit newer than 400) worked.  Andy is double checking.

Thank you, guys. I thought it was something related to FS2Crew, because, after installing it, when I quit P3D I get a CTD and maybe the changes are not stored. But it would be strange, given that they are correctly changed in the A320Xgauges.ini file.

It wasn't pulling in the Environment sound settings. I've just fixed. Thanks again.

Wow, great skills, Andrew, congratulations and thank you!

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for your comment. Now, it is clear.
