How soon is soon?

Folks,

Along with others who made the same dumb mistake, I recently purchased PMDG's 747x and their GoFlight MCP interface, only to discover that the interface software is for FS2004 only (thanks guys - really cute). They referred me to Flightsimlabs for the FSX version, hence my posting.

So looking at your hardware interface page, I see that the GoFlight interface for FSX is available SOON. Can you provide any kind of guidance as to when that will be? Should I be checking in once a week, once a month, once a quarter.... I'll be one of the first to buy as soon as it's available.

Thanks fellas - keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Bill

Hello Bill-

thanks for your support. As you realize, we don't publish release dates in advance, but I am also very eager to get that driver in your hands as well, so as soon as we have more news, I'll be letting people know!

Thank you for your kind words!

Thanks Lefteris. I'm in the software business too so I realize the sensitivity on pre-announcements! Reason for my request though was to determine how often I should check back. So if you were to give me some guidance here, I wouldn't interpret your response as an indication of actual availability....

Hi Bill-

I wish I had a concrete answer for you, but it depends on how the beta testing will go... Our home page does provide its announcements in RSS form, though, so if you subscribe to using the RSS link button at the bottom right (the orange one), you'll be alerted the moment the news hits the page!

Lefteris,

Well, looks like soon is now! Just downloaded the driver - can't wait to get home tonight to try it out.

Thanks a bunch,

Bill

Bill-

I'll let you in a little secret: I wished I would be able to see your face when I was posting the news item about the release... kid in a candy store kinda feeling, eh?

That's a great one!

Hope it's changed to hehe.gif now that your serial number issues are resolved as well! biggrin.gif

Lefteris,

Oh yeah! VERY happy over here. I just did a quick check after installing the license and I'm very happy so far. Here's why - up until now my GoFlight EFIS has been useless, couldn't get it to work properly with any addon. After installing your driver, the sucker works like a charm!

Got to run some mundane errands now but will come back with a full review of MCP and EFIS usability later. But I have to say, on first impressions it looks

GREAT!

Thanks guys,

Bill
