New Build

Hello All,

Having completed my Private Pilots License, I am looking for some help in building a new rig, and what parts I need to get so that I can have a fantastic experience. I currently run FSX with a Q6600, 9600GT, 2 X 500GB HDDs, 4GB RAM, Windows Vista Home Premium, 20FPS in worse case scenario, but runs up to 30-40fps+ on occasions. FS9 runs ok, but I seem to get better FSX performance in most cases.

I am looking to run FSX at max settings, good eye candy (for once), FS Labs Concorde, FS Labs A32X (When it's released) and currently the Wilco Airbus at least 24-40fps+ - that's all I really fly and probably some PMDG products when I am bored. Along with running Squawkbox and Active Sky Extreme. Scenery add-ons are UK2000, Aerosoft etc, as now I only have time to fly European flights.

I'd also like to Run Sony Vegas 10, Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop. Along with Microsoft Office Student 2010, along with Euroscope for VATSIM.

It's going to take me at least 3-4 months to pay out for, and thankfully Christmas/Birthday fall in this period which should help.

My monthly income from Part-Time work and EMA from College is currently £30 + 80-96£ a week (£120 per week)

I've came up with a list from asking people on twitter, and using a friends computer order inventory to up the anti.

I don't want my HDD to be cluttered with anything else, so I want to be able to have FSX capable HDD, along with an external 1TB HDD to store everything from my previous computer and be able to use it on the new, such as photos/videos that I have created.

Any suggestions of what HDD to get, and what I can do to run a decent Machine? What else is essential, I have a decent monitor/keyboard/mouse (optiquest 22inch monitor, logitech mouse/keyboard)

Regards,

Robbie

Purchased and Installed Concorde X Last night, so far so good.. very smooth and stable. Will do some test flights tomorrow hopefully on my day off, haven't really flown Concorde for a few years and that was the SSTSIM. This is one big step up....
