Vincent Twisker Posted July 7, 2025 Posted July 7, 2025 (edited) Hi gentlepeople, As in the title; Now that FSLabs is released in msfs 2024, is there any reason why I should not make the jump to msfs 2024 and delete msfs 2020 altogether? My homecockpit is 100% used for FSLabs and I am just abandoning P3Dv5 because I'm not able to resolve CTD upon loading FSLabs in P3D. Instead of doing a full PC re-install I have have decided it is time to move on. I've done a little bit of experimenting with FSLabs in 2020 but I have not made any futher investments yet in msfs2020. I don't have/want storage to run both 2020 and 2024 in parallel on my PC. I'm just looking to achieve maximum immersion with my homecockpit regarding flightmodel and systems. I don't care about any game/career related features. Any (homecockpit experience based) advise would be appreciated. Vincent Update: I've made the jump to 2024 and so far so good. Very good loading times and zooming along nicely with the FSLabs NEO. Improved performance compared to MSFS2020. I'm ready to say farewell to P3D and MSFS2020. Edited July 9, 2025 by Vincent Twisker update Quote
Jan Willemsen Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 Hey, I´m considering the same for my home cockpit. How did the setup work for you? Quote
Vincent Twisker Posted August 4, 2025 Author Posted August 4, 2025 Hey Jan, To be honest, I haven't done a single flight yet. I've been busy with interfacing and installing everything for 2024...FSIpanel, Active Sky, Panel popup manager, HWI etc etc. I'm also in the process of a major setup upgrade. My homecockpit was proper DIY with only the Skalarki TQ pre-manufactured. Recently I've replaced a few panels with Winwing panels and I have done a complete overhaul of my overheadpanel. I've replaced all my KD21 based korry switches with new ones making use of a 3D printer. At the moment I'm in the proces of replacing all my remaining old 7 segment displays with KAV LCDs. Everything takes a lot of time but I'm slowly getting there. I still miss a few P3D features but I think I will end up with a very nice working homecockpit on 2024. The loading seems to be significantly quicker compared to P3D and MSFS2020. I had invested almost nothing in MSFS2020, therefore it did not make sense to convert my P3D setup into MSFS2020 while MSFS2024 is already here. So far I'm happy to have made the jump to MSFS2024.
