BTW why do they label the black thing only under the right wing?

The only thing I know of is anti ice along that leading edge, but I may be wrong..

It was indeed, QUOTE The left wing edge (above and below) has black markings painted onto it which were used during the cold tests in Alaska towards the end of the flight development programme
