Patrick Muehlmann Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 a new Day in EDDK. thx for the great RePaint @Christian Mohr 4
Artur Araripe Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Early morning hop from Phoenix to Salt Lake City 2-3 hours later, in KLAX. 5
Dmitrij Nazarenko Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Approaching ENVA (man, I gotta "fly" to Norway more) Landing soon Marking, marking on the ground Will you tell me where's my stand Quick turn around and already a pushback A quick look at a beautiful sight from RWY 09 And here I go! METAR at EVRA looks promising - EVRA 041420Z 04009KT 9999 -RA OVC005 07/07 Q0991 R36/290195 NOSIG Though still better visibility than I had on departure. EDIT: yup, METAR didn't lie! I can see you, Riga! 3

Artur Araripe Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 IniBuilds preset No reshade yet. But I plan to use it at some point. 1

I always seem to have this weird reflection of some random terrain on the bottom... Also a bit off-topic, but how is 3700X? Planning to upgrade to it, wonder what kind of performance I could expect form P3D.
Artur Araripe Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Runs P3D like a dream! Always above 30 fps during cruise, dips below 30 with a couple payware sceneries, but never under 20. It's a solid CPU for p3d. 1

Artur Araripe Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 Yea, TomatoShade. It's a must have. Makes the A320 look even more spicy 1

Artur Araripe Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 My first flight simulator was FS2004. It looked fantastic back then
Antonio King Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 How do you all get your pictures to look so crisp? As soon as I save it as PNG it looks like the quality is absolute trash. 1

Artur Araripe Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 PCEm! A very solid emulator. I love it!

If anything, it improved the gpu usage so I get more frames now. 1
Robin Heinis Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Only just recently acquired the Boxed version of Concorde-X (v1.2) via eBay. Unfortunately a few days too late so I can't buy/download any updates for it. I even had to reinstall FSX Acceleration again - side by side now with my FSX-SE - to run it. Anyway, I'm currently in the process of learning it. And the one thing I did learn very quickly is that she is a sight to behold... See below for some first impressions (just took her for a quick photoshoot, still have to learn how to fly her realistically though) Screenshots are all unedited, straight from FSX Acceleration - pressing the FSX "capture screenshot" shortcut. Opened and saved with MS Paint as .png 4

Even if I have 2070 Super paired with it Tomato Shade is a shader app, so the CPU isn't really relevant. The aircraft reflections have different detail settings (the Dynamic Reflections setting in the sim). The lowest one which is what I'm using doesn't cost me any performance. I don't really care that much about aircraft reflections since 99.99% of the time I'm inside the cockpit, the main thing about TS for me are the atmospheric effects which use virtually no resources. They add a lot of depth but they also need to be used in combination with the right sky textures because the sky textures also influence the lighting. The Sky Force textures, for example, don't work with my preset at all because they already have a lot of blue in their lighting. 1

All things I read previously on the Internet said that it is a resource hog. Might give it a try next week when I have some free time to see it for myself.

All other features are minor shader tweaks with no measurable performance impact on my machine. It also has a couple of dynamic lighting tweaks that reduce the GPU usage impact of DL by a lot. 2

It will actually increase your performance as it will force the graphics card to work instead of sitting at 50% forever 1

Kian Andrews Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 One of my favourite winter routes. A nice NDB DME to fly on the way in, interesting terrain, and RealTurb really tops it off! 5
