February 18, 20179 yr Hi, After installing the latest version of SpotLights, I am unable to start P3D: When attempting to start P3D, I get an error message stating "Cannot access this file, you may not have permission..." or words to that effect. After uninstalling SpotLights, P3D starts as normal.

February 18, 20179 yr If you go to the specified folder can you access it without any Windows prompts? Many add-on developers advised against installation of Prepar3D in Program Files.

February 18, 20179 yr Well, if you cannot access the folder without Windows prompt then Spotlights and possibly other add-ons might have the same issue.

Just uninstalled SpotLights & now P3D & the A320 work fine again. Do I really need SpotLights for the A320 to work? February 18, 20179 yr A320 will work without Spotlights, however, some of the lighting is going to be missing. I think there might be an issue with your Windows and permissions.

February 18, 20179 yr It might be an easy fix however. You could take ownership of the P3D folder and set the ntfs permissions to full for your user. Need to do it recursively for files and folder, and of course turn off inheritance. Usually that fixes all permission problems. However subsequent attempts to launch P3D result in the original problem & error message: Grrr!
