    LiveATC feed for off-IVAO flying

Hi, I am currently flying online (for weather) -but off IVAO- over swiss airspace. I felt quite lonely and for a moment I recalled that little feature that Aerosoft's Airbus has that it plays a bunch of prerecorded atc chatting, so trying to achieve something similar I connected to Geneve Radar feed from LIVEATC.NET. At some moment, the light bulb came up in my head: Why not issuing a function in the plane that would allow us to connect to a liveatc feed once we set a specific frequency and click one of the buttons we don't use in the sim, like HF1 , HF2 or AM, so we start listen that feed ??? Basically what I say is, if I set 126.05 in the freq selector and choose HF1 -since we dont use HF in it- I would 'listen' to Geneve Radar's LIVEATC feed. If I switch back to VHF1, I would use the sims built sim radios. I mean, I can always play it in the background, but having this one built in would be frawesome (freaking awesome)...

    ATSU Data Source

Hello, can someone explain how the ATC data providers in atsu works? Although I selected IVAO (it is green in MCDU) as a source, it is picking atis information from vatsim... is this correct? EDIT: Even if I select "NONE" as source, it picks up data from Vatsim

    Flight Planning For Online Flights

Hi, I have a few questions regarding the informations that I have to put in the flight plan before sending it to VATSIM controlers. First, what is the correct equipment code for Concorde? Which line should I select in the squawkbox drop down menu? I think it's /I but not sure. What does it change exactly for the controler? For the SID and STAR, should I always explain to the controler that Concorde cannot fly as slowly as other AC and that I need higher speed restrictions or can I just ignore the speed restrictions as indicated in the charts? And by the way, what are the minimum speeds for Concorde in the SID and STAR? For the initial climb, I think it is 250kts and for the approach, it may be Vref + something, right? Same kind of question for the speed indication in the route: I understand what means C/UPGAS/M200F450F600. But in an indication like N0560F290, I don't clearly understand the number after the N. I know that it is the speed in kts but which speed? IAS, TAS, GS? And how can I know this number? For those who are passing by, I just found a website explaining in details the meanings of the figures added to a flight plan: http://www.bleedair.de/the-flight-plan-format.html

    Unable To Contact Atc/ground/atis

Hey guys Sorry if this is a n00by question: however Im having difficulty contacting ground and hearing ATIS. I've verified the VHF frequency is correct (on the lower pedestal (shift-7)) - but I can't hear anything and when I select an option (i.e. departing north or what have you) nothing happens) (done using the atc menu for FSX: default " , ") Any ideas what Im doing wrong? Im sure I'm just doing something stupid - or missing something - it's a wee bit of a nuisance xD Thanks in anticipation - Callum --Edit-- Update: I think it might be something to do with the selector switches in the upper pedestal - still investigating: no luck so far though (though I now know how to switch between VHF-1 and VHF-2 xD) --Edit-- Sorry, just noticed I should probably include the system specs Win7-65-bit Sandybridge i5 (4.4Ghz) ATI Radeon HD7970 16GB RAM FSX - Acceleration Fullscreen, 1920-1080-32 bit
