Ray Proudfoot
Your computer has run out of available memory. Arrgghh!! Flight from Gatwick to Tenerife South was going so well right up to that point. 64-bit can't come soon enough. 1 Link to comment
John Price
Are there still radio-aid based SIDs you can use out of Gatwick, Ray, or do you have to use historic ones? Link to comment

I use PFPX to create my Concorde plans John so it’s current SIDs rather than historic. It was the KENET 2M off 26L this morning. Link to comment
John Price
Righto, I think that’s still radio-aid based rather than RNAV/GNSS, off the top of my head. Only asking as it seems some airports only have RNAV/GNSS deps now, and obviously that can’t really be done in Concorde - just mentally prep myself for when I get flying in this beautiful machine Link to comment
Ray Proudfoot
John, are you employed in Air Traffic? You seem to have a good grasp of procedures. Whether Concorde could fly RNAV approaches I don’t know. Others may be able to advise. With no VNAV function it might not have been possible. If you haven’t flown Concorde before it’s going to excite you like no other aircraft. Link to comment
John Price
I’m not ATC, no, but do fly aircraft RW. I’m pretty sure you couldn’t fly a SID using the INS alone. I’m very excited indeed. I never had v1 of the FSL Concorde and I do rather regret that, looking back. I think this is going to be a sim experience like no other. Link to comment
Ray Proudfoot
John, If you want to learn about Concorde and how it was flown the ITVV videos are highly recommended. You can’t buy the DVDs any longer but can download and burn your own. There are two downloads. The outbound from LHR to JFK where the captain explains how it’s flown and the return where the FE explains his duties. https://www.itvv.com/Civil-Aviation-Flight-Deck-Download/Concorde-Part-One.html https://www.itvv.com/Civil-Aviation-Flight-Deck-Download/Concorde-Part-Two.html As a pilot you’ll appreciate the finer details. Departures tended to be hand flown but with all SID waypoints entered into the INSs. Forget everything you know about flying Boeing and Airbus. This aircraft is like no other. 1 Link to comment
ChristopherLow
I generally cruise around the UK countryside at 6000 feet or lower in my 737 and 777, but even I am interested in the new 64bit Concorde. I can imagine the whole experience being something very special. Link to comment

I can imagine the whole experience being something very special. It is Christopher. I'm currently flying from Rio to Cape Town. The airport scenery at both ends is rubbish but it means VAS shouldn't be a problem unlike Gatwick or Heathrow where it is. The air temps departing Rio were very warm. ISA DEV of +11 resulted in a very poor climb out to FL280 especially with 95T on fuel onboard with 92 passengers. But I'm now at FL500 and it's much colder. ISA DEV of -15. Just like Concorde likes it. My current ground speed is 1115kts or 1280mph. Quite a transition coming for you. Link to comment
Ray Proudfoot
No one discusses their Concorde flights any longer. Why? Am I the only person still using the 32-bit version? Link to comment
Will Fibich
I uninstalled my 32bit version a while back Some days I still want to go and fly it, but it's always a gamble if the release is on the horizon or not Link to comment
AdrianSmith
I'm still using 32 bit on FSX, flew to JFK and back earlier this week. I think that was the first time I have taken off from 22R at JFK Headwinds on the way out there but nice tailwinds coming back. 1 Link to comment
Ray Proudfoot
Well done Adrian. That’s two of us then! With no news about the new one going to beta we might be using it for some time yet. Do you handle fuel yourself? And why not come to the Heald Green meeting? We’re in a bigger hall now with fast internet access. Next meeting is 22 April from 11:00-17:00. https://www.stockport.gov.uk/groups/north-west-flight-simulator-group Link to comment
AdrianSmith
Ray, I handle EVERYTHING myself, fuel, pressurisation, the lot. I always found the VFE to be a little "unimaginative" going to Barbados. I will get to Heald Green sometime this year, but I'm out all day 23rd so it wouldn't go down well if I abandoned SWMBO two days in a row Link to comment

The Fulcrum owner is coming with the new throttle quadrant. Fully operational and close to production starting. Can’t wait to get rid of my Saiteks. Of course you have to keep the missus happy. Life would be difficult otherwise. So just the two of us have publicly declared we’re still using the 32-bit version. How sad. Link to comment

There's a chap on Vatsim I've crossed paths with often during testing who is still using SSTSIM on FS9! 4 Link to comment

Just goes to show the aircraft is more important than pretty scenery. I can understand that’s important for low-level VFR but for Concorde flights??? Link to comment

Which by the way will be terrific to do in our new VC, just saying ☺️ Link to comment

I cannot fathom why FSL are so reluctant to post any. 116 days since we saw any. 116! Link to comment
John Price
I have to say I don’t think showing a pic or 2 at this stage would do any harm, surely? Everyone pinky promise not to say anything negative! (Although I highly doubt there would be anything negative about it). Link to comment
ChristopherLow
I think we should just let the development team post stuff when they are ready. I am keen to see more screenshots and information as much as anyone, but we just need to be patient. Good things come to those who wait Link to comment

Good things come to those who wait If they were in a position to post screenshots on 23 December and work has been continuing ever since please explain why, 117 days later they are still not in a position to publish more. It makes no sense. Sorry Christopher but the advice to remain patient is wearing extremely thin now. With respect you've only just joined the queue for Concorde. Some of us have been waiting years and every planned release has been put back. The latest for a Q1 2023 release didn't happen and as we stand the plan to release to beta during April has only another 11 days to go before that doesn't happen either. The original plan was to release for P3D v4 and v5. Then v4 was dropped and with v6 in advanced development that shows how long this has been in development. The post from Markus was irritating. A case of I can see what it's like but we're not going to show you. Link to comment
Lefteris Kalamaras
Ray, honestly, I fail to see where we have failed you. Your initial purchase (which you admit you're still using) is still giving you pleasure (in a good way!) after so many years. Which means you've gotten MORE than your money's worth already. For the upcoming title, you've paid ZERO dollars so far. Nagging will not make it come faster nor does it mean you'll earn any happiness points. It will only serve to stress you (and our devs) more. So - my recommendation: 1) Believe that we'll release it when it's ready. 2) Believe that it's never coming. 3) Believe that we're focusing on other products. 4) Enjoy the product you have now. None of the above will affect our workload or release timeline. Option 4, however, will probably end up making you happier and allow us to focus a bit more on our work, rather than have to discuss how to reply to you. Then again, I feel I've said that before, so I am locking this thread - and mind you, any new threads that sound the same will actually be deleted immediately rather than be replied to. Sorry, I hope you understand. 9 2 5 2 Link to comment
