Will Fibich
Not sure if it's just a coincidence and I'm hearing things, but in a lot of Concorde videos you can hear a pretty distinct "wailing" sound right as the reversers are deployed. What exactly is that sound? Quote Link to comment
Will Fibich
Here's another one, too. And no, I don't think it's a kid cheering Quote Link to comment
Andrew Wilson
It’s the air motors on the TRUs. One of the loudest things on the aircraft!! 2 Quote Link to comment
Fraser Gale
Yes, as Andrew says the Garrett air driven motors were very noisy - mainly as they were the fastest operating air motors in the world at one stage, maybe even now, due to the requirement that reverse had to be available within so many seconds (3...?). 1 Quote Link to comment

Michael Penson
Its similar to the air actuators on some military aircraft! You can hear it on this F16 As well as these 16s and 15s that are landing. Quote Link to comment
