"GPU now callable"?

Sorry if I'm stupid, but what does "GPU now callable" mean (v5.0.1.114 changelog)?
It was callable before, what functionality exactly has been added here?

Thanks!

This area is still work in progress, as we're working with the guys at FSDT. You can use the MECH CALL button to summon the GPU; but as stated, the logic is very much in progress at the moment. I suggest customers continue to follow the same routines as before, and we will provide more instructions once the work is completed/tested and released.

Is the GPU sound provided by FSL or FSDT?

Because I noticed that if you change views from external to internal and back during the startup, the startup sound always plays all over again from the beginning unless you let it get to the permanent engine sound....

I don't own GSX.

Beginning with update v5.0.1.100 the MECH horn triggered EXT PWR (GPU) and Chocks.  That feature was great.

However, without having GSX, that functionality now appears to have been lost with update v5.0.1.114. It's no longer working for me.

Noting that this area is still work in progress, and remembering this is without GSX, can FSLabs or anyone else confirm if that's the case?

Thanks Brad, I’ll look into that. We do, of course, cater for customers who don’t use GSX - so I’ll find out where the issue is.

Will there be a "feature" with just cable connection? I doubt they drive a trailer in Frankfurt to the gates :)

*sorry if its "too much" asked but I just wonder :D

You mean like a cable from the GPU that is hanging below the jetways etc.? I think this was discussed over at the FSDT forums before, since this would be a task for the GSX devs I guess....

I am not 100% sure how its going to look like in real like in Frankfurt or so.

Overall: finally a visual GPU powering up our babys!! :)

The most airport dont have that GPU Generators in front of the AC. Most airport just have a Wire wich goes in the Ground.

Thought that, so it would be mostly the same "technique" to use as for the ground refueling panel then.

Yea. On a Jetway position it depends... Some has it on the Jetway and some are also linkt to the ground. Like in Vienna and Stuttgart

I‘ve been hoping for terminal-to-plane walking passengers for years now, and also belived it is the same „technique“ as for the busses.... Aparently it’s not. :D Maybe this stuff is way harder than we think...

But in the case of fhe terminal-to-plane it should "in theory" be possible.

I don't see a difference between customizing a walkway from the plane to the bus than having them sporn at a random point and then letting them walk to the plane B)

I know. What I meant was when there is no bus or jetway and the passengers just walk from the terminal over the ramp to the aircraft, like at Luton or smaller airports etc .

Andrew, can I ask very gently that we are not referred to as customers, I would like you to call us pilots/sim pilots or similar, after FSL are not tesco's lol :D
