Animated cabin blinds

Each window also has animations added to its window blind, so as you fly, blinds will adjust. Since we now dynamically calculate sun angles in our code, when the sun is shining bright on the left side of the aircraft, passengers will close the blinds, whilst during take off and landing (when it’s a requirement to have them open), they will all be open.

Hello,
unfortunately I cannot find anything about it in the documentation. Can anyone tell me when and how the cabin blinds close automatically? I haven't been able to see it on any flight so far!

I use P3Dv4.5 HF3 and ASP3D (Open Beta #7) with ASCA

Best regards
Raller

Hi Ralf,

Andrew has already said in the part you quoted.  As an end user there is nothing you can do to manipulate this.

How:  we now dynamically calculate sun angles in our code

When:   when the sun is shining bright on the left side of the aircraft, passengers will close the blinds

OK, let me rephrase the question:
Has anyone ever seen the blinds go up and down automatically?

I've done a few flights in bright sunshine and I've flown the plane especially at every angle to the sun. But the blinds all stayed up.

Ive no idea why you are not seeing it.  Have you also tried using our own FSL livery?

Yes.

Don´t forget: During takeoff and landing, all blinds needs to be opened so its "only during cruse phase of the flight".

Okay, thanks for your answers. I'll keep trying and testing.

It works well here but i’ver never seen them actually moving. Are they animated? Or do they just „spawn in“?

Its scary to see it is really animated but thats one of the coolest "useless" (until we have seen it) features we have seen so far I guess :D

Right of the emergency exits ;)

Yes mine works perfectly but I think it will only work in v5 as when I used it in 4.5 it didn’t work

I guess that's the point. It's not working in P3Dv4.5 HF3. I tried it again and the blinds won't close.

Do you have passengers on board?

OMG. I'm embarrassed to say it works with passengers

Who else is going to pull the blinds down when there's no one on board! The logic is really programmed logically.

Case closed...

I like this feature. In the screenshots I've seen the blinds seem very dark, though. I hope with texture editing there is a way to brighten this up.

I noticed that too.

The corresponding file must be the "cabinblind_ext_t_albedo.dds".
But this blinds-texture is already very bright (white). So until now I have no idea how to get the blinds brighter in the outside view as in this photograph...

It's not possible to make them any brighter in P3D at this time.

I enjoy paying attention to details in a simulator aircraft, both in the depth of the system and in its appearance. And I'm a repainter as well, so just flying around is not enough for me B)
