Norman Blackburn

Another little flight today.   Berlin's icon TV tower in the far distance.  Taking a little extra fuel today so sat around waiting.  Supposed to go in 6 minutes.

It passed the trials but if it is fully open not sure I think Schonfeld still handles traffic currently.

I have a day in BER as part of the pax handling trials next week.

TXL to stay open until the first week of November with BER planned to open 1st November.

Isn't the intention to close the SXF portion of the airport entirely? I'm sure I read that. 

Will be great to fly to the new airport. SXF was like a trip back in time to the old days, and not in a good way.

The intention the last I read was to keep it open for FR and perhaps others.

Oh interesting. I guess that makes sense. There were reports that BER would reach maximum capacity within a few years, pre-pandemic.

The old SXF Terminal will be Terminal 5 of the new BER.
