Good Joystick for Airbus

Recommended Posts

Usama Ahmed

Can anyone recommend a good not so expensive joystick (Which has throttle control as well) to use it with Fslabs Airbus?

I currently use Speedlink black widow joystick, but this around 4-5 years old and now it is showing it's age. I recently got hold of Logitech pro yoke from Amazon but I find it quite unrealistic to fly airbus with a yoke :D

Any recommendations?

I use the warthog throttle only and its great loads of buttons to bind the bus with, however its not cheapest and Iam sure there are some other good ones out there a lot of guys like the tm16000

Thrustmaster teased an all new hardware for this Thursday. Someone commented on the FSElite article that it is an Airbus stick and throttle setup. We shall see.

I saw something similar and it doesn’t look good at first glance.

So tempted! Since my Logitech x56 has a habit of going temperamental with the RGB lights and some switches not functioning as they should, and because I find myself flying the Airbuses more, I could do with a replacement setup.

I wonder if they also came up with a tiller solution...

I can recommend Tm 16000 cause it has a lefthanded stick. I am flying with the left hand since 6 month and it was weird during the first flights but now its like normal again. And the preferred seat in an Airbus has the stick to the left, therefore i was looking into a left hand solution. Cheers

According to this article from PC Pilot, Thrustmaster will be rolling out an airbus product range which includes a sidestick and a throttle quadrant. Looks very nice, considering the MSRP for the package is only $160.

Announcement coming Thursday from Thrustmaster. That article was taken from PC Pilot magazine that was received by someone early. Original post is on Facebook.

Wish someone could also make a "tiller". :D I miss this more than anything.

Just use the twist on the joystick, I have that setup as tiller and rudder pedals separate. Works ok for my little sim :)

Comes out on a dead page, but it's been indexed by Google somehow!

Imma have to buy this! I hope it has a twist axis for tiller use. The high end TM stick does not have one.

It says in the article that the stick features a Z-axis blocker, which I assume is a way to block the twist if you like to. Also the base looks pretty much like it's based on the T.16000, which has a twist axis...

That twist axis will go crazy in no time. It’s a well documented disease of these sticks, mine no exception.

Well, from what I've read a while ago, the reason for this fault is some bad wiring, maybe they fixed that.

my twist is going now.  I only use it for slew however and have the rudder twist turned off for in flight.  So I can live with it.

I don't have a twist on my joystick haha.. and for some reason I don't like it. Just a personal preference. But I guess it would be cool to have a tiller replica too. Using twist as tiller for forever would be like using a steering wheel instead of a yoke hahaha. Don't you think?
