Ahh yes, flown on this one around 2 years ago on my first ever trip to iceland. I have often wondered where it went. (no idea why it's so low res)

I’m going to assume a guideline value for fuel correction will be mentioned in the introduction guide when it is released. Just like the 321 and 319 had good walk-throughs of the significant differences.

But just for the sake of conversation, Airbus advertises a 3.5-4% fuel saving, so -4% adjustment is probably a good starting point. At a certain company who operates 321’s with both sharks and without, the actual difference is between 6-10% depending on the route, though it’s not really a fair comparison as the shark-fitted ones are 14-19 years newer and thus lighter, have newer (and different variant) engines and aerodynamical differences.

It's a fascinating difference from regular A320s. I think they stopped buying those modifications though as the airports they fly to improved their facilities.

Dont worry, even after the sharks release, a new thread with all new conspiracy theories, hype, and speculation will surely come out :D For the FSLabs product that can hold a lot more fuel. Maybe the A350 :P I cant wait for the thread for that :D

I invite you to go outside in this beautiful summer weather, enjoy the sunshine and let it warm your feelings - it does wonders for when I am feeling less than fantastic, I tell you.

Lefteris. I find it concerning that during a global pandemic of the scale of Covid 19, you are encouraging people to violate lockdown and stay at home orders. I am quite disappointed in you as I held you to a much higher standard, especially concerning legal matters. It is very irresponsible to tell people to do the thing that so many of us are sacrificing in order to slow the spread of this deadly disease. Please reconsider your recommendation to our friend Felipe to go outside, for the sake of his health and everyone else's.

I wonder if the SATCOM antenna for the Sharklets does anything for us in the sim, inflight internet via the EFB maybe?

Are you being serious?

He's not telling people to go out and party or socialise. It's perfectly possible to go outside safely and enjoy the sunshine.

What would the point in that really be?

Want in-flight internet? Use your phone. Or hit alt+enter and change your screen to windowed mode.

you know that pandemic and legal acions vary from country to country and that it is perfectly safe and legal to go out and enjoy nature in most parts of the world?

Some people have backyards and lawns you know. Which is perfectly fine and legal to go out into, dont worry you wont get infected from just going there. It might even help you out, sunlight is the source of Vitamin D, which boosts your immune system :)

Imagine if we did that... oh the screaming about all the missing features on the FMGC and about how our development priorities were the worst ever... would be heard all the way to Alpha Centauri!

You'll get proper FSL systems modelling and perf penalty though.

Let's be a little fair here.

In the time since FSLabs first released their product, we've seen them develop it for FSX, then update it for P3D, then for the 64bit version of P3D and now for v5 with the DX12 changes. Each time, the system upon which FSLabs relies has had significant changes being made.

Bear in mind too that FSLabs may not have included certain features in FSX because that 32bit platform just wasn't capable of managing memory properly.

Now, if the roadmap was as simple as A320 -> A319 -> A321 -> Sharklets, then it'd be simple enough to ask why, in between all of those development cycles, the missing features weren't added. But you have all these significant roadblocks that have come up during that time, with serious reworks needed to adjust to them.

Development isn't linear. It's not like Lego bricks where you can just drop in new squares and they attach to each other easily -- you have to make sure those everything fits together and that new additions don't affect the integrity of the whole structure.

I'm a certified SDET with over ten years of experience so I know a thing or two about software development and I know that priorities sometimes change. I'm just pointing that the roadmap you mentioned must have been very bumpy.

Imagine if you said it's coming in the next update but I didn't make it to the release. I'm pretty sure Marc could be heard all the way to the MACS J1149+2223 Lensed Star 1 ;)

Found an interesting video of the avionics bay of the A320. It's really cool seeing all the gear behind the scenes, when I was younger I thought the MCDU in the cockpit was the actual computer. In reality you are looking at the actual processing unit here the MCDU is just a interface. The bus is a great aircraft!

Just saw a video online of an A321 with sharklets landing and as the nose wheel touched, the ailerons didn't go up with the spoilers. I was curious if that s8 option of the ailerons will be an option like the satcoms? Just curious, if not, then no worries.

Thanks!

It's probably an option since the software mods cost more $$$ (real life carriers). Similar to brake fans how some airframes have them and vice versa. Only Andy or the dungeon master can tell you for sure though!

That has nothing to do with S8, it's an ELAC option

It'd be nice to know when HF2 can be expected, especially given the fact that it's proving to be a roadblock to other addons.

But MSFS2020 is still in alpha testing. Or as Lockheed Martin like to call it, ready for release...! :D

Yeah, while I get that developers don't like giving release dates, I feel like a short development update can be expected after two weeks. Customers have spent a significant amount of money on a bug-ridden P3D v5, and the lack of communication by Lockheed Martin isn't exactly great either. Especially since, as you pointed out, so much else is tied to it.
