Hi guys-

just a small note to say that we're fixing some issues we found while testing the release - nothing too major but it might take a little bit more time to do. That, in combination with the upcoming P3Dv5 HF2 which we feel will fix a couple other very important shortcomings, is delaying our release.

Just wanted you guys to know, so you don't expect the release to drop within the next couple of days at least.

If the next P5D update does not fix the bug you want to fix, then will the release of fsl continue to be delayed and not released? Can't we release a new version of the aircraft without affecting the flight? If the bug is really so critical, then why can as, qw, pmdg release their models?

A320SL and A321SL burn lower fuel than the A320 and A321 equipped with wingtip fences. How can we consider this by using simbrief?

In simbrief there is an option to change the fuel factor to +(P) and -(M) on each saved aircraft. What setting is necessary when we using an SL aircraft in future?

Guess what I did just now guys

Just watched a Jetblue full flight video and of course it was none other than the sharklets, now my patience is gone.

I'm trying to find some photos of the old 90s style cabin for the A321, if anyone can link me to a good sight it would help a lot. Everytime I see the new cabin it reminds me of the sharklets. The sharkies is like a infectious disease, it's everywhere!

Funny thing is, people who are unfamiliar with sharklets will be in for a shock. I'd highly suggest doing some studying on them before they release ( Learn the differences, things to keep an eye out for etc etc). Sharklets are a whole new board game. There's pilots I know who hate flying sharklets, you will have your hands full...especially in the decent phase & you can forget everything about the winglet fences in that sense. I'll give it a day before people complain on here  that they're broken but in reality that's how she is IRL. Trust me, some of you are gonna be surprised

The winglets on the end of the wings decrease drag induced by the vortexes. The decrease in drag means it will be more "slippery" than the fences and will result in the spoilers being deployed for descent more often since it will be more difficult to slow down.

Looking forward to the EFCS software & S8 as well as the new cabin retrofit! Our cabin for our airframe has been in use since 2005!

Another large addon developer released a statement on this exact topic a few years ago. In the early days if their models, and flight sim in general, putting the throttles to idle would decrease speed almost instantly and it’d be a guarantee it’d slow down.

When they released a new addon a few years later, people complained that the plane would not slow down in a descent with throttles idle and therefore it was “broken” only based on their (incorrect) experience in the sim.

The developers, including a few ATPL holders and airline pilots, tried to explain that it’s realistic, and they would not be changing it to an incorrect way just because people didn’t like the true behavior

For what it’s worth, PMDG’s latest weekend update indicates that their 737’s compatibility update is being held up by the hotfix, too.

Like i said this HF could go on for months and months nobody knows ,we wouldn't be in this mess if v5 wasn't released, we would have had the Sharks by now and happily flying in  v4.5   :(

HF1 fixed serious issues. HF2 seemingly will do the same. I appreciate the frustration in waiting for updates but this notion that there’ll just be an endless cycle of hot fixes which will force continued delays just doesn’t ring true of how LM operate.

As for the second part of your reply, you don’t know that. We’ve seen updates for the FSLabs take time. They’ve disclosed that there are bugs they’re fixing, not related to v5, which are adding to the time it’s taking for it to be released.

Besides, this next FSLabs update won’t include sharklets.

Just wondering if the plan is still to stagger the updates of the a320, A321 and A319 or does the extra time its taking allow for all 3 to release together. Feels like a long shot but had to ask lol.

This is interesting, I would imagine they're still going to stagger them as they can still focus using the time to test the 320 further. Who knows though

FSL take a look at the current situation, it will be some time before HF2 comes out so why not take this time to test and possible release ALL three updates? (A319/A320/A321).

It would be more productive and lead to a better product with more testing and less time spent waiting. But I think you guys know what you are doing!

I think you should not give any management push to FSL :D They are are most possible full aware of the situation and as I know FSL, they will not be sitting back in the garden/pool just because everything is finished until HF2 is out for release of the updates. They are, I guess, working in the background ...

Just calm down, chill, enjoy the weather and some good drinks until HF2 comes out and we will see :)

Sharklets will be shown soon by Blackbox717 as well as what is happening with the update that he is showing on Twitch or will he wait until the next year?

Not sure what you're really asking here, but the timeline that FSLabs gave was pretty clear.

1st - A320 update -- bringing PBR and S8 software updates to the sim.

...then shortly after...

2nd - A321 update -- bringing the A321 up to the new standards introduced by the A320 update, including the S8 and PBR software.

...then...

3rd - A319 update -- bringing the A319 update to to the standard of the A320 and A321, meaning S8 software and PBR.

...then...

4th - A320/A321 sharklets.

I don't expect sharklets to be released with any immediacy.

I don't know.

But I don't think sharklets will be shown soon, no. Not until the 3 updates that are coming next are released.

It says Sharklets after the A320 , A321 and A319 update. So I think it will be end of year 2020 if LM announce a HF, after the HF, after the HF every 4 weeks...

I wonder if there are still less stutters in V5 with HT OFF,

I know in 4.5 if you ran HT off it ran smoother than with HT on so curious if this is still similar in V5 or if it seems smoother for testers with HT on again.

I tested it and for me, its better with HT off.

We live in such uncertain times. Hope he gets some certainty over the next week or so.

The last my wife heard, Norwegian's US operations won't be returning to long-haul operations until April next year! So she's now looking for another job. At least until April.

*EDIT* -- this might not be the same for Norwegian UK. I have no idea.

Looks like it will be same with the airline I work for. But for now, it is uncertain if we will ever takeoff again or not.

Not knowing if pilots, cabin crew or anyone who works in aviation has a job to go back to right now is literally one of the most scariest & draining things we've all gone through in job terms. It's all you think about when you're stuck at home all day everyday. Theres mentally nothing you can about it either. You gotta ride the wave as they say. You wake up everyday thinking you've got that letter through the door with your airlines name on it. When you don't, you're grateful for it. Any pilot or cabin crew in here will tell you now that we ain't just employees to one another. We're all a massive family & most of us haven't seen our work family in months. It's hard....To my fellow crew around the world & non-crew around the world. Please look after your friends, check up on them & look after yourselves.

Sorry for the long post but peters comment just did it for me.

Unfortunately, this is the time where will see who is who. And in terms of jobs and economy I can tell you that lot's of bad things started resurfacing above the smelly water. Unfortunately. We have to keep strong and keep our heads up. I could tell a bizarre and horror story, what happen to my job which is BTW fully open for last month or so and I am still sitting home,  and as you said, often feel like a fish out of water.

HF2 is before 5.1 or HF3. If updates are always withheld we gonna wait till early next year, cause any HF will have several issues. Good night.

There was a similar scenario that took place when v4.5 came out. FSLabs waited for that to be released too. And despite the wait, they finally did release it once the P3D update was released.

Just try to be patient. Let FSLabs do what they need to do and trust their judgement.

in a group of facebook they show an image of the EFB turned off of an a319 but it causes me intrigue because it has been mentioned that this will reach the A320 and the A321 and very late to the A319 and what I know is that the Sharklets and EFB will not be shown until certain time after the release of the pending upgrade of the A320

If you dive into the files of the fslabs you will find textures for the efb. Those have been there a long time.

It is correct but I mean that the EFB is in the cockpit, it is a BETA screenshot like the one shown in the Lefteris update I want to share the image but I do not want to break any NDA
