Realistic Air France Concorde callsign?

Hello guys,

yesterday I was doing another flight with Concorde on IVAO, AFR53 LFPG-KIAD (as part of the LFPG-KIAD-MMMX-KIAD-LFPG rotation). I noticed that some controllers were quite surprised by Concorde's performance cruising above FL500 which needed some further explanation now and then. Since British Airways used the 'Speedbird Concorde' call, I was wondering if Air France did the same or similar on their Concorde flights. If I had used 'Air France Concorde 53' in my calls, which I didn't, this may have given some clarification. One of the controllers did use that call after my brief explanation. However I couln't find any information on this on the web. Do you guys know anything about the official Air France Concorde callsigns used in practise?

regards

Jan

From what I know, Air France only used their standard callsign (Airfrans) with Concorde with no additional prefix/suffix. You might want to try mentioning your aircraft type next time you fly, as such:

"(ATC station), hello, Airfrans 1, type Concorde, with you."
