  4. ConcordeX - French FO/EO Voice set

Here is a French FO and EO voice set. Thanks to my loved wife and daughter Francine and Flavie for their help and their patience while I spend hours behind my PC flying the Concorde-X!
You'll find three.zip files because of the limitation of the upload to 2 Megabytes : FO1.zip, FO2.zip and EO.zip.
Please backup the original files from :
    <FSX root>\Sound\FSLabs\ConcordeX\Callouts\French\FO and ~\EO
and replace them with the ones in the compressed folders.
Note that they are made according with the BA's procedures and not AF's (for example, the F/O calls "3, 2, 1, réduction" for noise abatment)
    Happy flights,
    Cyril

    ============================================================================================
    INSTRUCTIONS
    ============================================================================================
IMPORTANT: Please run the .exe from the directory containing it's data files. Failure to
do so will result in an error and the program will not run.
    - To quickly calculate full descent from Mach2.02 using just a rough estimate of a headwind.
Check the "From Mach 2.00" tick box.
Check the 380knot tick box if you will fly the proceedure at 380kts (AF).
Enter the headwind in the WindSpeed box. Positive for head wind, negative for tail.
Select your top of descent altitude.
Select your bottom of descent altitude.
    - To add more complete wind data to the above.
Enter your course in the course box.
Enter the wind bearing in the "Wind Bearing" box.
    - To calculate a descent NOT including the deceleration from Mach2.00 to 350/380kts.
Dont tick the "From Mach 2.00 box.
    Proceed as per example one.
The later method can be used to calculate ANY subsonic descent.
    ============================================================================================
    NOTEs:
Data is from RW performance tables. The tables in question do not have an ISA correction
and are valid for all ISA deviations above -10.
The data has been interpolated to give all flight levels, as opposed to even flight levels
    only.
If you are planning a cruise at 0.95 above FL350, you need to subtract 3nm per 2000ft above
FL350 from the Mach1 descent data box.

  11. Standard Operating Procedures for the FSLabs A320X

    Hello Folks,
I am virtually flying the A320 for around four or five years now, starting with x-plane 10 and continuing with P3d V4.
Since I also loved to read official Airbus A320 resources, I made various notes about the topic and enriched them with with each official resource I got access too.

These were mainly the following documents:
Airbus Industries: A319/A320/A321 Flight Crew Operating Manual I. System Description.
Airbus Industries: A319/A320/A321 Flight Crew Operating Manual II. Flight Preparation.
Airbus Industries: A319/A320/A321 Flight Crew Operating Manual II. Flight Preparation.
Airbus Industries: A319/A320/A321 Flight Crew Operating Manual III. Flight Operations.
Airbus Industries: A319/A320/A321 Flight Crew Operating Manual IV. FMGS Pilot´s Guide.
Airbus Industries: A318/A319/A320/A321 Flight Crew Training Manual.
Airbus Industries, A320 Family Instructor Support.
Airbus Industries, A319/A320/ A321 Quick Reference Handbook
Mike Ray, Airbus A320 Pilot Handbook, Simulator and Checkride Procedures.

One day in 2014 or so, I decided to scratch most of the stuff together in a list-format document and tried to get them into a flow, that starts with Exterior Safety Inspection prior crew boarding  and ends in Securing the Aircraft prior crew deboarding. So you can say, this booklet contains the whole cycle, starting with cold and dark and ending with cold and dark.
Additionally, I added some information about non-standard operations like De-Icing, Step Climbs, Turbulence Penetration and so on. As ever I am gratefull about hints, necessary clarifications and so on. Please just be so kind and adress them in reference to the specific parts of the FCOM, FCTM or FISM, so that I can cross check them.
Please take note, that at least some basic knowledge of Airbus A320 system is required.
I hope I could help those people, that are interested a bit.
Thank you and have a nice day.
    Guinea

  12. Flight Sim Labs A320X To Do List

    Good evening, Captains ...
the included PDF-Document mostly bases on an A320 To-Do-List, that I got from a dutch pilot four or five years ago. It was - let me call it this way - "short and sexy", you could reduce it to A5 Format, and there weren´t any big "nick nacks". So the list could be handled with ease (if you had the proper technical and procedural background for it).
This leads us to another point: The list enclosed, isn´t a huge compilation, and is neither designed as a handbook, nor as a manual. It is just a short summary of things you have to perform while guiding the aircraft, starting from Cold and Dark up to securing the bird.
So this document is logically not adressed for beginners.  it is, just something that you can put on your legs while flying and that you can shuffle through easily. So, if you favor "big information", you are better suited with official A320 FCOMs.
    ***
Unlike the original, I just changed/ added two things to the PDF:
    1. I took the time to bring the workflows down to single pilot procedures according to FCOM 03.3. I mean to be true - most of us flight simmer fly the bird alone, and not everybody also uses FSCrew currently (although I think about adding a Version for simultaneous use with FSCrew during Autumn and Winter).
    2. I added some none-standard procedures like Single-Engine Taxi, heavy rain ops, etc.
    3. Additionally, I integrated some relevant checklists for ETOPS-Operations. As ever, they also rely on official Airbus sources, that can be seen below. (I guess I will add ETOPS-Procedures to my bigger documentation around winter).
Please leave me a message, if you find any occuring mistakes or unclarities.
Have a good day, safe travels and blue skies :-)
    Thorsten

Random payload generator in Excel format.
Choose aircraft, config and purpose of flight and hit the button. (Be sure to activate macros).
The purpose will influence the minimum amount of passengers (less chance of a half empty plane on a holiday flight) and the bags (pieces) per passenger (might be more than one per pax on an holiday flight & not every one on a business trip is checking baggage in etc.).
    Passenger weight: 84kg
    Bag weight: 17kg
Male/Female/Child distribution just for immersion, does not affect total passenger weight.

  16. "Joystick Curves, Damping and Feel" Settings Guide for FSL A32X v2.0.2.44X

First of all, I'd like to emphasize on the great job FSL team did on the matter. I, in no way state, that current FSL Flight Control system is wrong or incomplete.
Every simmer has a different hardware. The real A32X has extremely difficult to replicate sidestick as it has a staged pneumatic damping by itself. The real "hardware" provides very specific feels and relies on muscle memory. As such, everyone's perception for it's operation may differ. Even among real pilots. We use different techniques, fly in different companies, at different weights and in different conditions. Me, as a real A319 (in the past), A320 (current) and A321 (current) pilot would like to provide my personal vision as to how i perceive the feeling of the A32X flight controls. For me*, the following guide provides closer to the real A/C feel, especially during LANDINGS.
*the guide is based on Logitech Extreme 3D joystick. It should be applicable to similarly cheap and low range sticks and probably will have NEGATIVE results on high-end, high range, more expensive joysticks.

  17. FSLabs MCDU Push Notifications

This tool will interface with one of the two MCDUs, obtain data from it and send push notifications to your device(s) when criteria is met.
Version 0.1 only obtains the distance to Top of Descend and sends a message when you are within a threshold distance. As an example, you can use this to be alerted to get back to your computer after a long cruise where you may have stepped away for a while.
This is a very early release and will need more work to account for various different versions of FSLabs and people's computers. Please report any issues.
    Requirements and Assumptions
    * Pushover already setup with FSLabs (ie for ATSU notification purposes)
    * FSLabs A320. It should be relatively easy to get A319 working but I will need some data and tests done with people who have the 319 as I don't have a copy of it as of yet.
    * P3D v4.x. This is not a strict requirement. The tool tries to automatically determine where your FSLabs PUSHOVER.ini might be located using Windows registry keys. I have only tested against an FSLabs installed in P3D v4. If it can't find the configuration file you can specify it manually. See options below.
    Options
You can pass the following options to the program to override defaults.
--td X X specifies the remaining distance to the T/D point after which a notification is sent. The default is 100nm if not specified --pushover Path Path specifies the location of your FSLabs PUSHOVER.ini file if it can't be automatically located (due to not using the same versions of software this was tested against). --debug This option will show more debugging and logging output. I may request you turn this on during debugging. This will expose your user key and token in the output so careful to not post the content as-is to this public forum to keep that information private. You specify these options in the run.bat file that was extracted as part of the package as follows. Modify the file as follows:
    .\fslabs-mcdu-pushover.exe --td 200 --pushover D:\Data\pushover.ini
This would set the T/D threshold to 200nm and specify the pushover.ini file to exist in D:\Data instead.
    Run Program
Double-click run.bat to run the program.
If will poll every 30 seconds to see if you're within the threshold distance.
Once a message is sent, it will stop running, prompting you to press a button to close the window.

  22. vPilot Pushover and Hoppie Notifications

This plugin to vPilot will relay incoming messages to Pushover and/or Hoppie ACARS.
When using Pushover, messages will arrive directly on your configured mobile devices.
When using Hoppie ACARS, the message is sent as a telex which can subsequently be picked up by the ATSU sub-system.
FSLabs' ATSU can in turn can also automatically sent such incoming telex messages to Pushover so you don't need to enable both at the same time. You might opt to enable both to ensure the plugin works in both modes as this is still early beta code and there are undoubtedly some bugs to work out.

  23. Checklist Generator

This utility takes a series of plain text files in a CSV-like format and transforms them into a checklist in HTML format with embedded JavaScript that allows you to select each line item to highlight it, marking it as completed. The generated code is set to autosize based on your screen size so it will work on desktops and mobile devices alike.
Included is a PDF setup guide that walks you through the configuration and data entry.
Currently there are no actual checklists provided yet but you can construct your own from a QRH or the Normal Procedures guide FSLabs provides.
A future update will have a full pre-canned checklist included for convenience. For now this tool gives you the framework to allow for creating any kind of checklist you need.

  25. EZCA3 Turbulence Presets for all FSL A3XX aircraft

    There are 3 files here. The first two are EZCA effect profiles (there are no camera presets here). Your best bet is to save them to the same place as the other presets;
    NGK 2020.cor preset to C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\EZCA\DB3\presets\Core
NGK 2020.hed preset to C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\EZCA\DB3\presets\Cameras\Human Head Cameras
Then you need to import them from within EZCA. With the sim running, open your EZCA main window, then select Show Effect Studio. Make sure the toggle at the top left of this window is switched to "Advanced", then you should see the import options on the left hand side.
    NGK ActiveSky 2020.CFG is an ActiveSky profile. Your best bet is to save it as the other config files;
    C:\Users\.....\AppData\Roaming\Hifi\AS_P3Dv4\Options
Then you can import it as any other profile - don't forget to save your own existing config file first.!
Controversially, I use 50 for Cloud Turbulence, Wind Turbulence and Turbulence Effect Scale. These settings are tuned to match the EZCA profiles. I find this pretty much perfect and never have any issues with disconnecting. Ever. BUT if you use these settings in isolation, they may not be right. Also note that these two components provide all the turbulence effects I need. Using any other product such as RealTurb, will almost certainly not work very well!
You MUST set Enhanced Turbulence OFF. If you don't, you will get disconnects and loss of control of the aircraft.
I hope this works for you!
    Nick
